Navigating the Devices Menu

The Eargo app “Devices” menu gives you information about your Charger(s) and Hearing devices, displays the shipping status for any replacement device(s) that have been requested, and allows you to add or connect replacement components once received. See which Charger is connected to the app. If there are any Software Updates, an orange circle icon will appear next to the item. You can also check the details for any Eargo 5 or Eargo 6 hearing device with the Get Serial Number tool, synchronize your program settings or revert your Eargos back to their Factory Preset Programs when desired.

Using the Get Serial Number Tool

If you have more than one Eargo 5 or Eargo 6 system and your Hearing Devices become mixed up, tap on “Get Serial No.” to help iron out the details. The mobile app will help to identify and confirm the serial number and the side assigned (e.g. left or right) to any Eargo 5 or Eargo 6 device. To start, place a single Eargo device into your Charger and secure the lid. When the mobile app identifies your Charger with the blue LED, select “Connect.” If detected successfully, the app will display the device details and automatically share them with Eargo Support. Tap on “Try Again” to check another Hearing Device or “Finish” to return to the home screen.

Program Sync and Revert to Factory Presets

If you’ve recently added a replacement device in the Eargo app, made changes to your devices using the remote control feature, or own a second Eargo 5 or Eargo 6 system and now have unexpected settings in your Eargo devices, “Program Sync” will allow you to update them to match the most recent program settings. Simply pop your Hearing Devices into the Charger, tap “Sync” and in just a few minutes your Eargos will be back in sync with the mobile app and you’ll be ready to go.

The Program Sync feature is available in the app’s Devices menu anytime.

Another option available is “Revert to Factory Presets.” Selecting this option will allow you to restore your Eargos back to the four Preset programs they’re shipped with. When reverting to Preset programs, all personalized device settings will be lost.

Amplification, especially for speech, will increase as you go from Preset 1 to Preset 4. After reverting to Preset programs, we recommend you spend some time in each setting and select, for each ear, the one that is most comfortable for you when listening to speech in quiet conditions. You can designate your selection as the baseline or favorite when you edit your programs. Once selected, you’ll have access to additional environmental settings like Restaurant and Phone. These will use your selected favorite Preset program as their baseline.

Alternatively, you may take Sound Match to fully personalize your devices. Click here to learn more.

You can access the Revert to Factory Presets feature in the mobile app’s Devices menu anytime.
