Devices Menu in the Eargo App

Navigating the Devices Menu

The Devices menu is where you'll find information about hearing devices and chargers that have been successfully registered to your Eargo app. Brand new or replacement components will not work with the app straight out of the box, so this is also where you'll register them once they've been received.

The Devices menu is also where you can:

  • View which charger is currently connected to the app

  • Check for and apply available Software Updates (follow the orange badge icons!)

  • Remove any unwanted devices from the app that you've returned to Eargo (but only after registering your replacement first!).

  • Verify details (e.g., product type, serial number, L/R side assignment) for any Eargo hearing device.

  • Revert your Eargos back to their Factory Preset Programs as they were when you first removed them from their box.

  • Rename your charger to help differentiate between them when you have more than 1 registered.


Charger Details Screen

You can tap on a Charger to access its details screen:

Each Charger has its own Name and Serial Number. You can change the name of a Charger by tapping “Name.” If you choose a new name, it must contain the final 4 characters of the serial number, for easy identification.

You can tap Troubleshooting to reach the Eargo helper bot.

If a Software Update is available for your Charger, you will see an orange badge here. Tap to apply it. To learn more about Software Updates, click here.


Hearing Device Details Screen

You can tap on the Left or Right hearing device to access its Hearing Device Details screen:

Each hearing device is listed with its unique Serial Number.

You can tap Troubleshooting to reach the Eargo Helper bot.

If a Software Update is available for your Charger, you will see an orange badge here. Tap to apply it. To learn more about Software Updates, click here.

Using the Get Device Info Tool

If you have more than one Eargo system and your hearing devices become mixed up, tap on “Get Device Info.” to help iron out the details. The mobile app will help to identify and confirm the serial number and the side assigned (e.g., left or right) to any Eargo device. To start, place a single Eargo device into your charger and secure the lid. When the mobile app identifies your charger with the blue LED, select “Connect.” If detected successfully, the app will display the device details and automatically share them with Eargo Support. Tap on “Try Again” to check another hearing device or “Finish” to return to the home screen.


Revert to Factory Presets

Revert to Factory Presets will allow you to restore your Eargos back to the four Preset programs they were shipped with. When reverting to Preset programs, all personalized device settings will be lost. Amplification, especially for speech, will increase as you go from Preset 1 to Preset 4.
