For the best results, please hold your mobile device as pictured below when making adjustments to the default start-up volume.
On iOS:
To adjust the default start-up volume level on an iPhone, we recommend you set your phone's volume to 100% (especially in noisy environments) using your phone's volume up or down buttons with Eargo app v4.0 or later. The minimum iPhone volume required to make remote control adjustments is 20%. Ignoring this recommendation may prevent your Eargos from syncing with the app.
On Android:
To adjust the default start-up volume level on an Android phone, we recommend you set your phone's volume between 60-100% with Eargo app v4.0 or later. Your device cannot be set to mute, vibrate, or Do Not Disturb. Maximum volume may be required, especially in noisy environments. Ignoring this recommendation may prevent your Eargos from syncing with the app.
How does the default start-up volume control work?
Please make sure your Eargos are in your ears when making programming changes from your Mobile device!
The default start-up volume control allows you to make lasting adjustments to the start-up volume for any of your selected programs. Unlike the temporary volume control back on your home screen, changes to the default start-up volume persist and are saved for each program so that your Eargos are set just how you like them each time you put them in!
Select Left Ear, Right Ear, or both by tapping on the left side, the right side, or the middle of the orange oval at the top of the screen.
Increase the Default Start-Up Volume by tapping the plus sign +
Decrease the Default Start-Up Volume by tapping the minus sign β
Each tap of the plus or minus buttons should result in an audible double beep in each device. Your Eargo Hearing Devices have maximum and minimum volume settings. You may increase or decrease the volume 2 steps up or 2 steps down on any of your listening programs. When you reach the upper limit of your volume range, you'll hear "Max" to let you know you've reached the top. When you reach the lower limit, you'll hear "Min" to let you know you've reached the bottom.
When you have finished making adjustments to your selected program, hit 'Done'. You may now select another program, or if you are finished, select 'Done' to return to the main control screens.
