Why do Eargo Apps require this?

Eargo apps require cellular data or a WiFi internet connection to authenticate your connected Devices. It also allows the mobile app to maintain communication with and transfer data to and from our remote server.

This function is necessary as it allows the Eargo app to:

  • Display helpful device information (e.g. Charger Battery level, serial numbers, etc.).

  • Send you important notifications and alerts (e.g. Cleaning reminders, 30-Day Tutorial content, etc.)

  • Access resources hosted on external websites such as www.eargo.com (e.g. Eargo Watch and Learn videos, Help articles, User Guides, etc.)

  • Connect users to Eargo Support by phone, email, and chat.

  • Update your Hearing Device(s) and/or Charger(s) through remote Software Updates when available.

  • Update your Hearing Device(s) settings via remote programming when sent from your Eargo Personal Hearing Professional.

  • Update and personalize your Hearing Device(s) settings after completing Sound Match.

  • Add new or replacement devices to your Eargo system when needed.

  • Share valuable device usage information with your Eargo Personal Hearing Professional to improve your experience through more personalized and efficient telecare support when needed.

If for some reason, you disable your internet or experience a poor connection, the mobile app may display the error message shown here. To restore your connection, select “Check Connection” on the screen and enable cellular data or connect to a WiFi network.

To quickly access and toggle WiFi or cellular data ON/OFF for iOS, open your iPhone’s Control Center:

On an iPhone with Face ID: Swipe down from the top right corner of the home screen. To close the Control Center, swipe up from the bottom.

On an iPhone with a Home button: Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen. To close the Control Center, swipe down or select the Home button on your device.

To quickly access and toggle WiFi or cellular data ON/OFF for Android, open your mobile device’s Quick Settings menu:

Simply swipe down anywhere on the home screen. To see an expanded Quick Settings menu, drag the tray down further to view additional options. Please note that individual icons and your screen’s overall appearance may vary slightly depending on the make and model of your mobile device.
