If you currently own both an Eargo 5 and Eargo 6 system and you’re trying to connect to the app, please first make sure that the hearing devices in your Charger are from the same product (e.g. both Eargo 5s). Eargo devices are marked for their corresponding ear on one side and have the product logo on the opposite side. Both hearing devices need to match one another in order to continue. The mobile app will not let you complete the connection process if you have one Eargo 5 device and one Eargo 6 device inside your Charger.

If you’d like to simultaneously pair and switch between using different Eargo products (e.g. change from using Eargo 5 to Eargo 6) in the app, you must update your app to the latest version available in the Apple App or Google Play stores.

How do I know which app version is currently installed on my mobile device?

From the main control screens, tap the Menu icon in the upper left corner then select ‘Settings’. At the very bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen, the Eargo app version that’s currently installed on your mobile device is shown. If your current app version is 2.1 or earlier, you likely have automatic app updates disabled on your mobile device and will need to update your Eargo app to the latest version available.

How do I manually update my Eargo app on iOS?

  1. Open the App Store app

  2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen

  3. Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes

  4. Tap ‘Update’ next to an app to update only that specific app, or tap ‘Update All

How do I manually update my Eargo app on Android?

  1. Open the Google Play Store App

  2. At the top right, tap your profile icon.

  3. Tap ‘Manage apps & device’. Apps with an update available are labeled “Update available.”. You may also tap on “Manage” then “Updates available”.

  4. Tap “Update

  5. Alternatively, you may see “All apps up to date” if no further action is required.

What do I do after I update my Eargo app to the latest version?

Launch the Eargo app. From the main control screens, tap the Menu icon in the upper left corner then ‘Devices’. To add your second Eargo product to the app, select ‘Add’ in the upper right corner and follow the instructions on screen.
